Bhagyashree Extends Support to Arpan to Strengthen Child Safety

Every child has the right to safety, yet Child Sexual Abuse remains one of the most pressing concerns in India today. In a significant step to amplify the importance of the prevention of CSA, Bollywood actor Bhagyashree has extended her support to Arpan, a non-profit dedicated to the elimination of Child Sexual Abuse in India.

In an Instagram video collaboration with Arpan, Bhagyashree speaks about why parents should focus on safety beyond vaccination and seat belts for their children. As a mother herself, she urges parents to equip themselves with the right knowledge by accessing age-appropriate and free personal safety courses on Arpan's e- learning platform.

By encouraging families to utilise these resources, she hopes that more parents will feel confident in initiating conversations that protect children from unsafe situations.

Sharing why speaking about this issue is close to her heart, Bhagyashree said, "We no longer lead protected lives, as social media has stormed the world and our lives are like an open window. To be able to shield children from child sexual abusers and offenders, we need to make the children themselves aware and be able to defend themselves. We need to as parents be alert and responsive to see even the tiniest behavioural changes in a child. Awareness is the first step to knowledge and information is the shield we need to make that difference. And now by partnering with Arpan, I hope to strengthen the message that Child Sexual Abuse is preventable, and together, we can create a safer world for every child."
