 Associate Manager – Art, Craft & Livelihoods

Locations: Ahmedabad

No. of Position: 1

CTC: ₹6.0 LPA - ₹7.8 LPA (Depending on the relevant experience)

About the Position:

The Associate Manager – Art, Craft & Livelihoods will play a key role in strengthening the craft and livelihood ecosystem by working with artisans, SHGs, and rural entrepreneurs. The role focuses on capacity building, product development, marketing, and value chain enhancement to ensure sustainable income opportunities for local communities.

The ideal candidate will have experience in craft development, social enterprise management, or CSR-based livelihood projects with strong project coordination and stakeholder engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities:


1. Program Planning & Implementation

  • Lead and manage livelihood projects focused on art, craft, and rural entrepreneurship.
  • Coordinate with local partners, artisans, and producer groups for smooth project execution.
  • Conduct need assessments, baseline surveys, and develop action plans for capacity building.
  • Supervise field activities, training sessions, and artisan development programs.

2. Capacity Building & Product Development

  • Design and facilitate training modules on design innovation, quality enhancement, costing, and packaging.
  • Collaborate with designers and technical experts to improve product aesthetics and market appeal.
  • Support artisans and SHGs in adopting modern tools, techniques, and branding practices.

3. Market Linkages & Branding

  • Facilitate market access through BharatCares Marketplace (online and offline outlets).
  • Build partnerships with retail buyers, exhibitions, and e-commerce platforms.
  • Support branding, cataloging, and storytelling to enhance visibility of artisan products.

4. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

  • Track project progress using KPIs and impact metrics.
  • Prepare detailed progress reports, case studies, and success stories.
  • Support in impact documentation and data analysis for donor reporting.

5. Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with CSR partners, NGOs, designers, and government departments.
  • Represent BharatCares in project review meetings, exhibitions, and partner visits.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of craft sector, artisan communities, and rural livelihoods.
  • Hands-on experience in training facilitation and community mobilization.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience in market linkages, product design, and entrepreneurship support.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and digital communication tools.
  • Ability to travel to project locations and work closely with field teams.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Handicrafts, Design, or related fields.
  • 3–6 years of experience in livelihood promotion, craft development, or social enterprise management.
  • Prior experience in CSR or NGO-led livelihood projects preferred.
