Job Description

The Communications and Documentation Officer will play a key role in shaping the project’s visibility, community outreach, and behavior change communication. The officer will be responsible for creating impactful IEC materials, developing content for various platforms, documenting field activities, and coordinating awareness campaigns to support disease prevention and health promotion efforts.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging content for IEC/BCC materials, including posters, brochures, flipbooks tailored to local contexts.
  • Contribute to the preparation of training materials and toolkits for field-level health workers.
  • Draft compelling and informative reports, newsletters, blogs, case stories, success stories, and policy briefs to highlight project progress and impact.
  • Coordinate and support the planning and execution of community awareness sessions, campaigns, and health events in collaboration with CHWs and field teams.
  • Liaise with local stakeholders (Panchayats, schools, ASHAs, VHSCs) for effective dissemination of communication materials.
  • Ensure content and messaging are culturally appropriate, locally relevant, and aligned with public health objectives.
  • Capture and maintain a database of photographs, testimonials, and field documentation to support donor communication and advocacy.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Public Affairs, Development Communication, Social Sciences, or related fields.
  • Technical /Area of Expertise: Experience in development communication, IEC/BCC, or content creation for health or social sector programs. Experience in working with rural or tribal communities will be an added advantage.
  • Skills Required : Strong writing, storytelling, and editing skills in English and Hindi/local language. Knowledge of IEC design tools, basic photography/videography, and community communication techniques. Experience coordinating field-based awareness events and engaging with local governance bodies.
