About the Organization
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), headed by the Prime Minister of India, is the apex body for Disaster Management in India. Setting up of NDMA and the creation of an enabling environment for institutional mechanisms at the State and District levels is mandated by the Disaster Management Act, 2005. NDMA is mandated to lay down the policies, plans and guidelines for Disaster Management. India envisions the development of an ethos of Prevention, Mitigation, Preparedness and Response.
Job Description/Responsibilities
Cyber Security Professionals (Consultants, Senior Consultants, and Lead Consultants) will support the protection, assessment, and strengthening of cyber infrastructure across NDMA and related institutions. They will assess vulnerabilities, implement risk mitigation plans, and develop digital safety frameworks to protect disaster response systems from cyber threats.
- Consultants will support system audits, vulnerability scans, and cybersecurity awareness activities.
- Senior Consultants will lead risk assessments, incident response planning, and cyber hygiene training programs.
- Lead Consultants will provide strategic oversight, guide cybersecurity policies, and coordinate high-level cybersecurity integration into national disaster frameworks.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
Education:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree is beneficial for consultant roles, while a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is recommended for Lead positions.
- Certifications: Certifications in cybersecurity, ethical hacking, information security, risk management, or cyber incident response would be an added advantage.
Experiences:
- Consultant: 3–7 years of experience in cybersecurity, including threat monitoring, risk analysis, or network security.
- Senior Consultant: 8–12 years of experience with leadership in cybersecurity planning, governance, and incident response.
- Lead Consultant: Over 12 years of experience in cybersecurity strategy, policy-making, coordination, and threat intelligence.
