SEWA Bharat (www.sewabharat.org) is the All-India Federation of Self-Employed Women’s Associations that works with women workers in the informal sector in 18 states. In all these states, SEWA is involved in organizing women workers and their development through Self Help Groups, Cooperatives and Federations. With over 2 million active members across 18 states, SEWA Bharat’s reach in the development sector is ever expanding. SEWA Bharat supports development programs and activities that organize women so they can aim to achieve full employment and self-reliance for all its members. SEWA Bharat is a family of SEWA organizations to further informal women workers’ rights, livelihoods, financial independence, education, health and social security.

Job Description

The Coordinator – Skill Development will lead the design, implementation, and expansion of SEWA Bharat’s formal-sector skilling and placement programme in its places of presence. The role involves programme management, strategy building, partnership development, fundraising, team leadership, and ensuring successful training and placements for young women.

Job Responsibilities

Programme Strategy & Implementation

  • Lead overall planning, strategy development, and execution of the Skill Development Programme in Delhi NCR.
  • Design need-based, market-driven training modules aligned with current industry requirements.
  • Develop scale-up plans for Gurugram, Noida, and Faridabad after Phase I in Delhi.
  • Ensure smooth operations across mobilization, training, job readiness, placement, and post-placement support.

Training & Placement Management

  • Establish targets for training, certification, and job placements; monitor progress regularly.
  • Build systems for mobilizing participants, conducting assessments, and tracking outcomes.
  • Ensure strong employer connections for formal-sector placements across industries.
  • Oversee counseling, mentorship, and post-placement retention support for trainees.

Partnership Development & Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain partnerships with training institutes, employers, HR agencies, corporates, and government bodies.
  • Lead relationship management with existing partners while identifying new placement and training opportunities.
  • Represent SEWA Bharat in external forums, meetings, and industry events.

Fundraising & Proposal Development

  • Support fundraising efforts by identifying opportunities, drafting proposals, concept notes, and donor reports.
  • Maintain relationships with donors and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to programme budget planning and financial oversight.

Team Leadership & Capacity Building

  • She is required to build a team centrally in Delhi and states.
  • Manage and mentor field teams, trainers, and project coordinators across locations.
  • Conduct regular team reviews, build capacity, and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Ensure alignment with SEWA’s values and community-driven approach.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

  • Track programme indicators using MIS tools and ensure data accuracy.
  • Conduct field visits to monitor training centers, mobilization activities, and employer sites.
  • Prepare high-quality narrative and data-driven reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Education, Management, or related fields.
  • 6-8 years of experience in skill development, livelihoods, youth skilling, or employment-focused programmes (preferably with women or marginalized communities).
  • Experience in team management, partnerships, and fundraising is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Delhi NCR’s employment ecosystem.
  • Excellent communication skills (Hindi & English), documentation abilities, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to travel across Delhi NCR regularly.

Salary Range: Up to ₹12,00,000 per annum, commensurate with the candidate’s last drawn salary and relevant experience.
