The Opportunity:

Ayang Trust is looking for a Field Facilitator to support the implementation of its livelihood project focused on women’s entrepreneurship, enterprise development, farmers and handloom weaving across various development blocks of Lakhimpur district, Assam. The Field Facilitator will work closely with women entrepreneurs, weavers, Farmers and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and community institutions to ensure effective grassroots-level implementation of project activities. The role involves community mobilization, training facilitation, enterprise handholding, and coordination with local stakeholders. This position is well suited for individuals passionate about rural livelihoods, women’s economic empowerment, and community-led development.


Key Expectations:

  • Mobilize women farmers, entrepreneurs, and weavers to participate in livelihood, entrepreneurship, and collective enterprise initiatives.

  • Support the formation, strengthening, and day-to-day functioning of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and women collectives.

  • Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and exposure visits related to enterprise development, production practices, and financial literacy.

  • Provide handholding support to women entrepreneurs and weavers in areas such as record-keeping, quality standards, packaging, branding, and compliance.

  • Assist community members in accessing financial services, government schemes, and market linkages.

  • Maintain regular communication with community members to ensure participation, ownership, and sustainability of project activities.

  • Collect field-level data, maintain records, and prepare regular progress updates and reports for the project team.

  • Monitor field activities, identify implementation gaps or challenges, and report them promptly to supervisors.

  • Build trust-based relationships with community members and local stakeholders to strengthen long-term project impact.

  • Any other task assign by the reporting manager.

Desired qualification and competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Rural Development, or a related field (Graduates in any discipline with relevant grassroots experience may also apply).

  • Prior field experience in community mobilization, livelihood promotion, handloom, or women’s empowerment preferred (Freshers with strong motivation and community orientation will also be considered).

  • Strong facilitation, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Basic understanding of livelihood models, collective enterprises, and FPOs.

  • Ability to maintain field records, documentation, and submit accurate reports.

  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the district.

  • Proficiency in Assamese (knowledge of local languages preferred) and basic computer skills.

  • Self-motivated, empathetic, and committed to working with underserved rural communities.
