Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Fundraising Consultant to lead the development of high-value, multi-year funding proposals and cultivate strategic relationships with major philanthropic donors. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of securing large grants for systems change (USD 2M+) from globally recognized donors and awards. The role will involve working closely with the Senior Consultant -Development.

Job Responsibilities

• Strategic Direction: Ideate, develop and execute a strategy which is aimed at securing high value gifts from globally renowned donors.
• Proposal Development: Lead the writing of compelling, high-impact proposals tailored to large philanthropic donors.
• Donor Mapping & Strategy: Identify aligned funders and develop customized engagement strategies for each.
• Narrative Crafting: Translate complex systems change work into clear, emotionally resonant narratives that meet donor expectations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with program, M&E, and leadership teams to gather data, insights, and evidence for proposals.
• Relationship Management: Support donor cultivation efforts including pitch decks, donor calls, and follow-ups.
• Grant Readiness: Ensure organizational materials (e.g., theory of change, budgets, impact metrics) are aligned with donor requirements.
• Capacity Building: Mentor internal fundraising staff and help institutionalize best practices for long-term sustainability.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• ~15 years of experience in fundraising, strategic partnerships, or donor engagement within the social impact sector.
• Demonstrated success in securing large multi-year grants (USD 2Mn+) from global philanthropic institutions.
• Deep understanding of systems change approaches and how to communicate them effectively.
• Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with a portfolio of successful proposals.
• Strong network within the philanthropic ecosystem is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and collaborate across diverse teams.
