Position Overview
The Physiotherapist will play a key role in diagnosing and treating patients suffering from physical impairments, injuries, or disabilities. This position is designed to provide rehabilitative care to individuals suffering from musculoskeletal conditions, neurological disorders, and other physical challenges, enhancing their quality of life and functional mobility.
Core Responsibilities (70%)
Patient Assessment & Care
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical conditions, including movement, strength, and flexibility evaluations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on the assessment, aimed at improving physical functioning and reducing pain.
- Provide physiotherapy treatments including exercises, manual therapy, electrotherapy, and other modalities as appropriate.
- Guide patients in rehabilitation exercises and monitor progress through regular evaluations.
- Educate patients and their families on techniques to improve mobility, prevent injury, and manage chronic conditions.
- Monitor patients’ progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve the best outcomes.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring that all treatment plans and outcomes are documented in line with organizational standards.
- Prepare regular reports on patient progress, program effectiveness, and other key performance indicators.
- Submit detailed patient reports to the Health Program Director and collaborate with the health team on ongoing assessments.
Link Responsibilities (15%)
• Work with local health teams to ensure continuous improvement of the physiotherapy services.
• Contribute to regular health program reviews and provide input on how physiotherapy can enhance overall program outcomes.
Systemic Responsibilities (15%)
- Uphold the organization’s core values and promote a patient-centred approach to healthcare.
- Ensure the ethical handling of all patient data and adhere to confidentiality standards.
- Support the development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures related to physiotherapy services.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy (BPT) from a recognized institution.
- At least 2-3 years of professional experience as a physiotherapist, preferably in a community or field-based setting.
- Experience in treating a wide range of musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiopulmonary conditions.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to educate patients and caregivers effectively.
Preferred
- Experience in rural or underserved healthcare settings.
- Certification or training in specialized physiotherapy techniques such as dry needling, kinesiology taping, or manual therapy.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent knowledge of physiotherapy techniques and treatment modalities.
- Ability to design and implement rehabilitation programs for diverse patient needs.
- Experience in managing physical therapy for both short-term injuries and long-term conditions.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team.
