What is Mahesh Safety Net? 

 

Mahesh Safety Net is an initiative undertaken by the Tarachand Ramnath Seva Trust. MSN aims to ensure that the vulnerable families from Maheshwari communities in Pune do not fall prey to any calamity/struggle. The idea is to have well-to-do members from the same community come together and create an ecosystem that ensures the community's overall welfare.

 

The analogy is drawn from the safety net for high-wire walkers that we usually find in a circus. The net protects these walkers and catches them mid-air in a gentle fall if they slip during their act.

 

Why Do We Want This Position Filled?

To ensure the progression of the activities and program

 To trigger the increase in the community’s involvement in the program

 

What Do We Expect From This Position:

 

 The scope of the accountabilities of the role includes (but is not limited to)

 

1. Program Strategy & Development:

 

 a. Develop and Maintain a Gantt chart for the program

b. Ensure adherence of the program to the Program SOP

c. Develop execution & assessment plans for the program’s components

d. Maintain extensive program-related documentation

 

2. Program Management & Oversight 

a. Identify Maheshwari families for the program with the help of family anchors.

b. Assess the families and identify (or ratify) the needs

c. Track and ensure that the identified needs are met.

d. Engage with families periodically to identify and assess emerging needs.

 

 

3. Program Events

a. Execution of program-related events (Grocery Kit Donations, Diwali Event)

b. Networking with relevant vendors and stakeholders for event-related activities

 

4. Stakeholder Management 

a. Act as the Trust’s SPOC for any MSN-related activities/queries

b. Engage with family anchors and volunteers to expand the reach of the program

c. Engage with relevant partners to ensure on-ground execution

d. Engage with external donors/supporters to raise funds

 

How Does Our Ideal Candidate Look Like?

 

Education & Experience

 Master of Social Work as graduation (child family development specialization preferred) 

~ 5 Years in different program roles (pref. w/ CSOs)

 2+ years of working on projects of socio-economic development of families as target

 

Knowledge & Skills

 Skills : Stakeholder mgmt, Networking. Communication, Community mgmt

 Personal Attributes : Quick learner, Self-motivated, Passionate for social work

 Languages : Command over Marathi, Hindi & English (both spoken & written)

(Knowledge of spoken Marwari will be an added advantage)

Software Adeptness : Command over Microsoft Office, Google Suite
