The Opportunity:

Ayang Trust is looking for a Programme Trainer cum Facilitator to support its livelihood initiative focused on women’s entrepreneurship and enterprise development across multiple development blocks of Lakhimpur district, Assam. The Trainer will play a critical role in strengthening entrepreneurial capacities, business management skills, and field-level implementation of project activities. This role requires extensive engagement with women entrepreneurs and community institutions and involves intensive field travel across the district. This position is ideal for professionals passionate about rural livelihoods, women’s economic empowerment, and sustainable enterprise development, with a strong inclination for hands-on grassroots work.


Key Expectations:

  • Support the Project Lead in planning and implementing livelihood promotion activities with a focus on women entrepreneurs and smallholder farmers.

  • Assist in the development and strengthening of women-led enterprises through training on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and business management.

  • Facilitate the formation, registration, and strengthening of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), including governance, member mobilization, and operational support.

  • Provide continuous handholding support to women entrepreneurs and farmers in production planning, quality improvement, record-keeping, and enterprise sustainability.

  • Support access to finance by facilitating linkages with banks, financial institutions, and government schemes.

  • Develop and strengthen market linkages for women-led enterprises and FPOs, including buyer connections, aggregation, value addition, branding, and sales support.

  • Assist in organizing training programs, exposure visits, and capacity-building workshops for community members.

  • Coordinate with local stakeholders, service providers, and institutions to ensure effectiveness.

  • Any task assign by the reporting manager

Desired qualification and competencies:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Management, or related fields.

  • 2 years of experience in training, facilitation, or livelihood promotion (experience working with women entrepreneurs will be preferred).

  • Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to prepare and deliver engaging training modules in simple, community-friendly ways.

  • Knowledge of finance, entrepreneurship, and market linkages.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and digital tools.

  • Willingness to travel extensively within the district.

  • Fluency in Assamese and English (knowledge of local dialects will be an added advantage).
