About the Organization

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The year 1964 was an important landmark in the history of the Institute, when it was declared Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist field Investigators in the primary and secondary data Collection (including stakeholder interviews and documentation).
• Monitor the filed data collection in the field.
• Support data entry, transcription, and preliminary analysis.
• Provide logistical and administrative support for the project.
• Support Research Associate to write report.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• A PhD/ MPhil/ Master’s degree in Social Sciences with NET, Rural Studies, Development Studies, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline (55% minimum)
• Prior experience in field work, data collection, research reports. Experience on water-related projects is highly valued and desirable.
• The ability to travel all over Marathwada region of Maharashtra to field locations wherever it is essential.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Marathi are necessary.

Salary

₹ 37,000 per month
