Job Description

This is one of the research roles at the Just Transition Research Centre, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Kanpur. The role involves writing project reports. It also requires collaboration with other verticals to advance the goals of the Centre.

Job Responsibilities

• Coordinating with the field research team.
• Assisting the field research team with data collection activities.
• Data analysis and synthesis.
• Writing project reports, papers, and presentations, including for community outreach purposes.
• Transcription and translation work.
• Handling quantitative and qualitative data.
• Other tasks assigned by the reporting authority.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Master’s Degree in climate and energy policy / economics or related fields.

Experience

• Experience in just transition
• Working experience in educational institution like IITs

Skills and Competencies

• Experience of primary and secondary data collection and analysis.
• Strong written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience and proficiency in using technology and data analytics tools in research – i.e., KOBO; ArcGIS / QGIS; Python; SPSS; Zotero or other relevant software.
• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office tools (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
