About the Organization

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The year 1964 was an important landmark in the history of the Institute, when it was declared Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956.

Job Description

The village coordinators will be conducting the field-work in the respective tiger reserves, conducting household surveys, village meetings, and collecting other qualitative data regarding the relocation and resettlement process. Knowledge of the local language is necessary for this position.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Some Background knowledge in conservation, protected areas, and relocation issues.
• Ability to live and work in rural settings with limited infrastructure.
• Independent worker with strong time management skills.
• Prior experience in fieldwork or community research is preferred.
