The P&T office in Bangalore is the third Shell global centre for technology after Houston, USA and Amsterdam, The Netherlands - delivering advanced technical studies, projects and services for Shell around the world as well as supporting Shell activities in India.

    P&T provides access to cutting-edge Indian talent and resources to Shell worldwide through its research and development facilities in Bangalore. By the end of 2009, the Bangalore office has employed nearly 700 professionals and has plans to grow to 1000 in the near future. 

    Responsibilities

    Assess CO2 and Energy Management client improvement options and deliver solutions. This consultancy work includes site visits as well as desk studies, to support pathfinders, assessments, business improvement reviews and masterplans.

    Integrate knowledge in specific process or engineering skill groups and work together with these specialists to deliver and optimal solution to the customer from CO2 and other driver’s perspective.

    Apply steam and power system models, pinch technology, energy analysis and similar tools to quantify gaps and identify opportunities in energy and CO2 efficiency for existing facilities and new projects.

    Support projects and other clients with CO2/energy footprint analysis and specialist support for clean development mechanisms, CO2 trading etc

    Guidance to technology development, design practices and procurement standards

    Technical Assurance for projects and services within the field of energy efficiency

    Technology development activities in this field 

    Qualification /Experience:

    The Energy & CO2 Efficiency Consultant should preferably have an academic degree or equivalent in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.

    Should have at least 10 years of professional experience in oil and gas (upstream/downstream), chemical plant or in other energy intensive industries.

    The Consultant is expected to have a sound background in (process) engineering, preferably including distillation and refinery or chemical plant or Gas/LNG Processing or Upstream Oil & Gas Production.

    Successful experience working as part of a team, self-motivated to learn.

    Strong written and verbal communication skills, Results oriented. Customer focused
