About the Organization

Since 2006, the Learning Planet Institute has been dedicated to reinventing learning for all ages (lifelong learning) through collective intelligence in order to build sustainable & inclusive learning societies able to rise to the complex challenges we face.

The Institute’s mission is to explore, research and share new ways of learning and cooperating in order to respond to the needs of the youth and the planet. By encouraging and disseminating a culture, methods and tools for empowerment, it transforms organisations. Ultimately, it leads communities and supports “Learning Planetizens” to take care of themselves, others and the planet.

About the Event

Co-designing a new generation planetary academy with and for young people.

The Learning Planet Institute is driving an intergenerational, global movement to build a Learning Planet Academy, supported by UNESCO and The United Nations University, adapted to transitions across the world.

With the Learning Planet Youth Design Challenge (LPYDC), we encourage youth to come co-design the future of learning!

The Learning Planet Youth Design Challenge invites youth aged 15-26 to pitch their innovative educational projects for real-world impact.

Project submissions should relate to one of the following themes:

• Community Impact – peace, democracy and inclusion
• Flourishing – well-being, thriving and socio-emotional development
• Sustainability – planetary health and circular economy

Benefits of Participation:

• Training: 60 shortlisted projects will receive expert-led mentorship and thematic training on topics like scaling, community engagement, and leveraging AI tools for education innovation.
• Prizes: 12 awardees will then receive $1,000 grant to advance their projects.
• Recognition: Projects are published on the Learning Planet projects platform and shared with a global network of education leaders, partners, and changemakers.
