About the Organization

Established in late 1998 as trust, NEEDS [Network for Enterprise Enhancement and Development Support] have started intervention in selected poverty-stricken pockets of Bihar and Jharkhand. From our Trust, we brought about a significant change in the lives of women and children in terms of food security, livelihood, Reproductive health and hygiene and child development and protection outcome besides the constitution and strengthening various institutional arrangements for sustainability. One of our important focuses is institutional arrangements in self-help collectives and their skill-building while creating a shared vision for change.

About the Proposal

NEEDS invites quotations from experienced and eligible contractors / agencies for execution of pond construction and renovation works under its water resilience and livelihood support initiative.

Scope of Work

The work broadly includes construction and renovation of the following types of water bodies:

Small/Farm Pond Renovation

• Desilting and deepening up to 10 feet
• Strengthening of embankments
• Inlet and outlet arrangements if and where required
• Minor earthwork and finishing

New Multi-Purpose Ponds

• Excavation and shaping
• Embankment formation
• size will be 100x80x10 feet

Community Pond Renovation (Large Ponds)

• Large-scale desilting
• Depth up to 10 feet
• Area 25 decimal
• Embankment repair and stabilization
• Improvement of water holding capacity

New Community Pond Construction

• Earthwork excavation
• Bund formation and site leveling
• Basic inlet/outlet provisions as and where required
• Detailed technical specifications and site locations will be shared with shortlisted bidders.

Eligibility

• Registered contractor / firm with prior experience in earthwork, pond excavation or water conservation works - at least for 15 years , and have worked in Medinipur Districts earlier and also have capacity to complete over 350 ponds all type inclusive within 60 effective days before 31st March 2026
• Compliance with local statutory and safety norms
• No advance payment will be made, payment will be made part by part as and when completion certificates of the specific ponds are given by the direct beneficiary / primary beneficiary, NEEDS will provide the template of completion certificate and for payment claim the same need to be provided by selected vender to NEEDS duly signed by the beneficiary and sunny to NEEDS for verifications
• Submit the relevant documents as mentioned above including experience evidence/ work order of working in Medinipur district earlier
