About the Organization

Established in 2007, the National Health Systems Resource Centre, a premier Think Tank for MoHFW, is mandated to assist in policy and strategy development in the provision and mobilization of technical assistance to the states and in capacity building for the Ministry of Health.

Job Responsibilities

The Consultant will work under the guidance of senior officials to support the NUHM Program. The key responsibilities include:

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyze data from various sources, including Health Management Information Systems (HMIS), to identify implementation bottlenecks and propose solutions.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, program documents, and guidelines based on field observations and data analysis.
  • Maintain a repository of state-wise data on program implementation, including physical and financial progress.

 Technical and Programmatic Support

  • Provide technical support to state health departments and Urban Local Bodies for the planning and implementation of NUHM activities.
  • Develop capacity-building materials and provide training support to program staff at the state and city levels.
  • Conduct periodic monitoring visits to states to review program progress, prepare visit reports, and follow up on recommendations.

Documentation and Coordination

  • Utilize MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to create official documents, manage data, and develop presentations for various stakeholders.
  • Maintain regular communication with state-level nodal officers to get updates on program implementation.
  • Collaborate with other divisions and departments within the National Health Systems Resource Centre and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Educational Qualification: A postgraduate degree or higher qualification in Public Health, Community Health, or Preventive & Social Medicine from a recognized institution is required.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of three years of post-qualification experience in health systems strengthening, program planning, or implementation is mandatory . This includes demonstrated experience in operationalizing health programs at the field level.
  • Computer Proficiency: A high level of proficiency with commonly used software packages like MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential for this role .
  • Data Analysis and Governance: Competency in data analysis, monitoring and evaluation, and public health administration is a must .
  • Communication Skills: The candidate must possess excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with strong oral and written communication abilities in English.

Desirable Qualification and Skills

  • A medical degree such as MBBS or BDS is desirable.
  • Prior experience working on urban health programs at the central or state level is preferred.
  • Published research or reports in the field of public health or health systems would be an asset.
  • Experience with statistical analysis software is highly desirable.

Salary

Rs.60,000/- to Rs.1,20,000/-
