Background of the Program

Sambhav Social Service Organization is implementing a Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) program for Persons with Disabilities in Pithampur and adjoining areas under a CSR partnership. The program aims to improve access to identification, rehabilitation, inclusion, livelihoods, and social participation of persons with disabilities through a rights-based and community-led approach.


Position Summary

The Program Manager will be responsible for overall leadership, planning, implementation, monitoring, and coordination of the Disability (CBR) Program. The role requires strong field orientation, team management capability, and experience in disability, public health, or community development programs. The Program Manager will ensure quality delivery in line with national and international CBR guidelines and donor expectations.


Key Responsibilities

1. Program Planning and Implementation

  • Lead end-to-end implementation of the Community-Based Rehabilitation program across identified villages/urban settlements.

  • Translate project objectives into clear work plans, activity schedules, and field strategies.

  • Ensure effective follow-up of Rapid Disability Survey findings and individualized rehabilitation plans.

  • Integrate medical rehabilitation, therapy, assistive devices, education support, livelihoods, and social inclusion components.

2. Team Leadership and Capacity Building

  • Supervise and mentor CBR Workers, Physiotherapist, and other program staff.

  • Conduct regular review meetings, field visits, and on-the-job capacity building.

  • Ensure ethical, respectful, and rights-based engagement with persons with disabilities and caregivers.

3. Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with district administration, health facilities, ICDS, education departments, Panchayati Raj institutions, and disability-related government schemes.

  • Coordinate with medical professionals, rehabilitation centers, and referral institutions.

  • Represent the program in district-level meetings, reviews, and public events.

4. Monitoring, Documentation, and Reporting

  • Establish and oversee monitoring systems for outputs, outcomes, and quality indicators.

  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of case records, rehabilitation plans, and success stories.

  • Prepare narrative and data-driven reports for donors and internal management.

  • Support audits, evaluations, and learning reviews.

5. Community Engagement and Inclusion

  • Promote community awareness on disability rights, early identification, and inclusion.

  • Strengthen caregiver groups, self-help groups, and community support mechanisms.

  • Ensure participation of persons with disabilities in decision-making processes.

6. Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Ensure program compliance with donor guidelines, organizational policies, and legal requirements.

  • Uphold safeguarding, child protection, and gender-sensitive practices across the program.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Postgraduate degree in Social Work, Public Health, Disability Studies, Rehabilitation Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in community-based programs, preferably in disability, health, or inclusive development.

  • Prior experience managing field teams and multi-stakeholder programs is essential.

  • Working knowledge of CBR guidelines, disability legislation, and government schemes is highly desirable.

  • Sound understanding of community processes and grassroots realities

  • Good documentation, report writing, and data interpretation skills

  • Ability to work independently in field-intensive settings

  • Proficiency in Hindi; working knowledge of English preferred
