ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE OF INDIA (EDII) INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE POST OF PROJECT OFFICER IN MAHARASHTRA, CHHATTISGARH, MADHYA PRADESH, AND GUJARAT:

Position Title: Project Officer – Rural & Tribal Livelihoods (MFP-Based Enterprise Development)
No. of Positions: 2 each in following State
Location: Gujarat-Dang, Maharashtra-Nagpur, Chhattisgarh-Bastar, Madhya Pradesh- Narmadpuram (Field-based deployment in rural/tribal areas)
Employment Type: Full-time, Contractual (11 months) – Renewable based on performance and project outcomes
Reporting to: Project Manager

Role Overview

The Project Associate will support field-level implementation of rural and tribal livelihood projects with a focus on MFP-based enterprises. The role involves community mobilization, enterprise facilitation, and direct engagement with beneficiaries to strengthen sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mobilize and engage SHG members, tribal seed collectors, and rural entrepreneurs.
  • Identify and develop sustainable MFP-based livelihood opportunities.
  • Facilitate establishment of decentralized MFP processing units (e.g., Mahua oil, herbal powders, forest-based products).
  • Organize and conduct training and capacity-building programs.
  • Provide technical support, business mentoring, and enterprise handholding.
  • Assist in market linkage development and strengthening of value chains.
  • Coordinate with local government departments, NGOs, forest officials, and community leaders.
  • Document field-level progress, case studies, and success stories.
  • Submit timely reports and updates to the Project Manager.

Experience & Educational Qualification:

  • Postgraduate in Rural Management, Social Work, Forestry, Agriculture, Food Technology, or related disciplines.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in rural development, tribal livelihoods, or MFP-based enterprise projects.
  • Prior field experience in tribal/rural regions preferred.
  • Strong skills in community mobilization and facilitation.
  • Proficiency in Hindi, Marathi, and/or Gujarati.
  • Ability to live and work in remote tribal and rural areas.
  • Knowledge of food processing or MFP handling desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and coordination abilities.
  • Good documentation and reporting skills.

Remuneration: Rs.50,000 per month CTC
