Job Description

Title of the Project:  Conservation and management plan of Saltwater Crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) in Great Nicobar Island.

Data collection on Saltwater Crocodiles and its ecological parameters across the beaches in A&N islands, day and night survey, monitoring beach dynamics, satellite tagging and movement ecology, data management & analysis, sample collection and population genetics studies.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Masters’ Degree in Natural Science (Marine Science/Wildlife Science/Zoology/Botany/ Environmental Science/ Veterinary Science/ Life Science/ Genetics/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/Remote Sensing & GIS) with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University AND Four years of relevant experience (after obtaining Master’s degree) in academic Institutions/Research Organisation or Scientific activities in any organisation.

                            OR

• Doctoral Degree in Science/ Engineering & Technology from recognized institute/University

Desirable Qualification(s)

• Candidates with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Master’s Degree and with prior experience on working crocodilian ecology, herpetology, animal handling, veterinary science, Geospatial analysis, population genetics, phylogeny are desirable. Candidates should be able to undertake arduous field work in remote islands in Nicobar Islands with limited logistics. Candidates with publications in relevant field is also desirable.
