About the Organization

We also have two representations, one in Berlin and one in Brussels. Regional offices in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Munich/Feldafing support Germany’s federal and state government departments in the field of international cooperation.

Job Responsibilities

Work with the GSDP-NITI Aayog team as nodal for implementing the SDG localization project in Madhya Pradesh. This includes

• Supporting the concerned nodal State department for SDG implementation and other stakeholders for strengthening the SDG Hub/Coordination Centre at the State level.
• Support the planning and execution of the project action plan in collaboration with the State and the project team for improving coherence in planning, steering, sensitization, budgeting, and monitoring processes for SDGs at the State/District level.
• Design, develop and disseminate concept notes, reports, and other knowledge products to guide accelerate SDG implementation at different levels within the State and across India.
• Support the project’s engagement for mobilizing private sector investments for SDG implementation at the State level.
• Contribute to the goals of the Indo-German Partnership on Green and Sustainable Development (GSDP) for SDG implementation.
• Support the coordination between Indo-German cooperation projects with relevance to SDG implementation within the state. Ensures that all approaches, activities, and communications under the collaboration at the State level are aligned to the Feminist Development Policy and GIZ Gender Strategy, ensuring inclusivity of women and other vulnerable populations.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Post Graduate degree or PhD in public policy, governance, sustainable development, management or any other degree with relevance for the position.
• Overall professional experience of minimum 5-7 years.
• 3-5 years of experience in working in sustainable development or related domain.
• Sound knowledge or experience of planning and budgeting processes for SDG implementation and monitoring at the National Level and in Madhya Pradesh.
• Experience in capacity development and multi-stakeholder partnerships for development/social sector initiatives.
• Proven track record in working with State/National Governments, providing policy and technical support in the field of sustainable development or related areas.
• Prior experience of working with the State Government of Madhya Pradesh is desirable.
• Excellent analytical skills, and capacity to produce clear and concise reports in English, as well as key documents such as specific ToR in the areas of activity of this project.
• Strong project management, planning, and coordination skills, with the ability to deliver a complex project effectively and under tight deadlines.
• Proven experience in development cooperation within an international organisation or as a consultant; experience in German development cooperation is an asset.
• Work style characterized by self-organization and team-oriented communication as well as the ability to actively built trust with colleagues and partners.
• Ability to work independently and take self-initiative.
