About the Organization

The National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR), an autonomous organisation under the Union Ministry of Rural Development, is a premier national centre of excellence in rural development and Panchayati Raj. Recognized internationally as one of the UN-ESCAP Centres of Excellence, it builds capacities of rural development functionaries, elected representatives of PRIs, bankers, NGOs and other stakeholders through inter-related activities of training, research and consultancy. The Institute is located in the historic city of Hyderabad in Telangana state. The NIRD&PR celebrated its Golden Jubilee Year of establishment in 2008. In addition to the main campus at Hyderabad, this Institute has North-Eastern Regional Centre at Guwahati, Assam to meet the NE-regional needs.

About the Program

NIRDPR is commencing its 14 th batch 18-month PG Diploma in Tribal Development Management Programme in Distance Mode from August 2025. The Programme is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The Programme will be offered through three semesters as stated below.

• Semester -1
• Semester -2
• Semester -III

Special Features: Self-instructional material shall be provided in soft copy only to the enrolled students. The materials include instructions for self-study and self-assessment exercises.

Duration: Eighteen Months

Medium of Instruction: English

Eligibility

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a UGC-recognised university. Reservation criteria will be followed as per the Government of India norms.

How to Apply

The Information Brochure can be downloaded from NIRDPR’s website at www.nirdpr.org.in. The filled-in online Application accompanied by a payment gateway for Rs. 500/- (for Gen/OBC/EWS) & Rs. 300/- (for SC/ST/PWD candidates) towards application fee along with attested copies of the required certificates as mentioned in the application form should be uploaded through online process.
