About the Organization

We Scale Native Forest Restoration for Climate Impact. We Restore Biodiverse Forests by Equipping Local Forestry Teams with Training, Technology, and Capital. We identify, nurture, train, support, monitor, grow, identify the next generation of forest carbon teams and projects.

About the Fellowship

The first biodiversity-focused, carbon-funded forest accelerator. Our global teams of science and forestry experts are integrated into local communities, supporting foresters through their most critical challenges.

Objectives:

• Funding: Fund planting costs to get projects off the ground; Coordinate forward carbon sales to deliver regular revenue to forestry teams and local communities; Develop sustainable business models to eliminate the need for fundraising and grant writing.
• Training: Ongoing opportunities to learn best practices from science, forestry, carbon, finance, legal, community impact, and marketing experts.
• Seeds: Seed banking solutions to promote high native species diversity.
• Tracking: Monitoring and tracking from seed to field for high project transparency; Guided support with Terraware software.
• Expert Support: Global team of foresters, scientists, technologists, experienced carbon market strategists, and creative communicators ready to help your project succeed.
• High-Quality Projects with Flexibility: Focus on native, biodiverse restoration that creates community benefits;
• Opportunity to incorporate agroforestry and sustainable timber harvest.
• Carbon Market Verification: Execute feasibility studies and Project Design Document (PDD); Facilitate project verification with top-tier third-party verifiers; Connect projects to carbon credit buyers.

Eligibility

Our Accelerator is open to forest restoration teams around the globe. You might be a great fit if you have:

• Shared values: Share our values of biodiversity and native ecosystem restoration
• Land access: Have long-term access and rights to reforest at least 3,000 hectares of land in Colombia, Ghana, Kenya, or the Philippines - or at least 15,000 hectares in other countries
• Tropical or subtropical location: Our forestry accelerator is designed to support organizations focused on tropical or subtropical reforestation projects and communities only
• An experienced team: Have proven experience in native ecosystem reforestation within a similar eco-region
• Interest in carbon markets: Are interested in learning more about carbon market financing
• Long-term planning: Are focused on restoring forests that last for generations (minimum 40 years) and benefit the environment and communities around those forests
