Job Responsibilities

Technology vision and Engineering excellence

• Architect and own the technology vision for platforms that will become the financial rails of India, from Unified Lending Interface(ULI) to Mulehunter.aiTM to the Digital Payments Intelligence Platform(DPIP).
• Build systems that can operate with zero tolerance for downtime—resilient, secure, and trusted to serve a billion people for decades.
• Solve for scale in the truest sense: tens of thousands of integrations, petabytes of data, and AI models running in real time across the financial sector.

Ecosystem engagement

• Translate complex regulatory frameworks into elegant, scalable technical designs.
• Work directly with banks, fintechs, regulators, and global technology partners to align technical execution with national priorities.
• Represent RBIH as a thought leader in innovative, secure, AI-enabled financial infrastructure.
• Establish RBIH’s AI Lab in keeping with the RBI’s Framework for Responsible and Ethical Enablement of AI (FREE-AI).

Team building and mentorship

• Build and mentor an elite engineering team that thrives on solving impossible problems.
• Create a culture of craftsmanship, experimentation, and speed, where technical debt is fought ruthlessly, and solutions are battle-tested at scale.
• Partner with the Chief Product Officer to build platforms that are not just functional but transformative for India’s financial system.
• Define how AI is injected into every workflow at RBIH while ensuring transparency, accountability and sustainability.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Want to build and scale the invisible backbone of finance, the infrastructure that’s behind billions of transactions, but is trusted by all because it never fails.
• Have 15+ years of technology leadership, building and scaling high-performance systems in demanding environments.
• Know how to ship resilient, secure APIs and platforms that can withstand population-scale load, while evolving with speed and precision.
• Bring deep expertise in modern cloud infrastructure, microservices, data privacy, and AI/ML
• Can move from setting long-term technology strategy to debugging with an engineer, without losing momentum.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in fintech, regulated industries or with regulators.
• Exposure to API first, open source, or public digital infrastructure projects.
• Comfort building for India’s extremes, from high-speed 5G to offline rural access.
