Job Description

The Programme Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring that NEWS’s programme goals are effectively managed through the implementation of projects, in compliance with the donors' requirements, and in strategic alignment with the organisation’s MEAL Framework (2025–2030). The role includes coordinating between project teams, overseeing programme dashboards, and internal learning processes to strengthen the process of achieving the organisation’s programme outcomes in coordination with the Leadership team.

Job Responsibilities

Programme Coordination, Management & Oversight

• Oversee the maintenance of the project in the master project register and programme dashboards.
• Ensure all projects align with NEWS’s strategic goals and MEAL framework.
• Support seamless implementation of programmes through compliance, data management, and reporting.
• Follow up of the monthly plan of Action (MPOA) for smooth implementation.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL)

• Work with project teams to identify the gaps and challenges in the objectives, outputs, and outcomes.
• Draft & finalise the annual report of the organisation.
• Ensure that members from the Advisory Board or external resources review final reports to funding partners or external communications.

Capacity Building & Internal Learning

• Organise internal reviews for project teams and need-based training/capacity building

Proposal Development & Donor Compliance

• Identify new funding sources - Lead drafting of project concept notes and proposals in collaboration with project heads/ project managers
• Ensure compliance with donor requirements; maintain donor compliance matrix.
• Set and manage the calendar for internal reviews, circulating checklists on the output delivered.

Communication & Reporting

• Raise the pertinent issues through communications related to programme progress and learning internally to relevant persons.
• Support in preparing of high-quality reports/ case studies for donors, stakeholders, and external partners.
• Represent NEWS at relevant stakeholder and partners meetings as and when required

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Social Sciences, management or related field.
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in programme management, preferably in the conservation/NGO sector.
• Strong knowledge in MEAL systems, donor compliance, and project cycle management.
• Excellent writing skill and verbal communication skills in English and Bengali.
• Proficiency in MS Office, data management platforms, and MIS tools.
