Job Description

Lead initiatives that bridge evidence and practice by working alongside the evidence team (research, evaluation, systems mapping) and the implementation team (community engagement, program delivery). Ensure programs are designed, managed, and delivered with rigor, adaptability, and measurable impact.

Job Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Design: Lead strategy, program designs, and workplans using Participatory Action Research (PAR) and social-ecological systems (SES) thinking.
  • Learning, Knowledge & Adaptation: Capture lessons through after-action reviews, generate research-backed reports and knowledge products, and ensure insights are translated into project design, scale-up, and policy pathways.
  • Stakeholder & Team Leadership: Facilitate alignment and collaboration between researchers, field teams, funders, and partners, while mentoring and building the capacity of internal teams. Navigate power dynamics with sensitivity and ensure strong delivery capabilities across the board.
  • Delivery, Quality & Risk Management: Ensure disciplined execution with robust budgeting, resource forecasting, adaptive management, and quality assurance; maintain compliance with donor, legal, ethical, and safeguarding standards.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Education: Postgraduate degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Policy, Management, or related fields. Candidates with strong relevant experience but different academic backgrounds may also apply.
  • Experience: 5–7 years of experience in project management within the development / social impact sector, with exposure to both research (MEL, evaluations, systems mapping) and implementation (community engagement, program delivery).
  • Knowledge: Participatory & community-based research, implementation science, MEL, and domain expertise in livelihoods, regenerative systems, and business management.
  • Skills: Systems mapping, adaptive program design, cross-team coordination, data-informed decision-making, and knowledge product development.
  • Mindset: Adaptive, outcome-driven, equity-focused, and collaborative; comfortable in complex multi-stakeholder environments; committed to equity and community-centric approaches.
  • Behaviours: Integrates research into practice, facilitates alignment across disciplines, clear communicator, proactive problem-solver, skilled in cross-cultural stakeholder engagement, and strong on execution discipline.
