Job Description

The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad intends to hire multiple candidates with a postgraduate degree in economics (MSc/MA or similar), or urban planning (MCP/Master of Planning or similar), or business administration (MBA or similar) and a solid quantitative background as full-time Research Associates working on a range of projects related to transportation economics, infrastructure finance, transport sector decarbonization policy, etc. Applicants must have a strong foundation in the core elements of economic theory and have in-depth knowledge of econometric methods. The Research Associates will have research responsibilities including, but not limited to: survey design and administration, data cleaning and processing, literature reviews, quantitative data analysis, drafting and editing of reports, and project administration related activities. Prior work experience as a research assistant is desirable but not mandatory.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Candidates with a degree in management/information systems/engineering/computer science/mathematics or social and economicrelated disciplines are preferred.
• Candidates with expertise and a focus on running simulations in the organizational domain will be preferred.
• Candidates should be proficient in Python and R. They should be comfortable with creating large datasets and analyzing & visualizing them. Candidates with experience in natural language processing and text analytics will be preferred.
• Candidates should be well-versed in secondary data analysis. Candidates proficient in running econometrics/statistics models are preferred. Prior experience working with panel datasets and knowledge of Stata is desirable.
• Candidates who understand the scientific process, including being comfortable doing a literature review by reading and summarizing research papers, will be given preference.
