About the Organization

The Centre for Development Economics (CDE) was set up with a grant from the Ministry of Finance, Government of India as a research adjunct of the Delhi School of Economics (Department of Economics). It is a non-profit organization that supports research in all areas of economics. It came into existence in August 1992 and began effectively functioning from early 1993, with the full range of activities picking up only in late 1993 after it received its grants from the Government of India and the Ford Foundation

Job Description

The Centre for Development Economics at the Delhi School of Economics (DSE) invites applications from eligible candidates for the posts of Research Assistant/Associate for research studies on

• Analysis of national accounts and price indices including WPI, CPI and the related issues.
• Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Both are extensive empirical studies involving the use of various secondary and primary data sources based on fieldwork. The selected candidates will be working under a team of Senior Faculty from DSE and eminent researchers.

Duration of positions is six months, extendable up to one year with the first month as probation period. Emolument will be 25-45K per month consolidated, depending on qualification, time committed and experience.

Job Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include Literature reviews, data collection from secondary sources, field visits (including outside of Delhi) for primary data collection, data analysis, maintaining records of data collected, supervising interns working on the research project, and preparing progress reports and presentations as required from time to time.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Master’s Degree (Completed) in Economics or Statistics

Salary

Rs.55,000/- (Consolidated) Per month
