About the Organization

The Jan Vikas Samiti (JVS) was established in 1996 and registered under Societies Registration Act 1860. Since its inception JVS has been working for the integral development of the marginalized and underprivileged sections of the society, particularly of women, children, scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and persons with disabilities. Currently, JVS is directly implementing programs on Women Empowerment, Community Health, Rehabilitation of Children and Youngsters with Disabilities, WASH, Livelihood promotion for Women, Skill Training for Youth etc. Over the years, JVS has been engaged in creating an inclusive environment and social and economic development of the disadvantaged people by enabling them to have access to education, employment and equal rights. We promote people’s bargaining power and active participation and decision making in social, political and economic life of the society. Access to livelihood and employment is essential not only to end the cycle of poverty, but also to create a barrier free society. In fulfilment of this, JVS promotes and conducts skills development trainings to help youngsters, especially with a disability to get equipped for available jobs in the market, which gives them dignity and respect in the society.

Job Description

We are currently searching for experienced and skilled Special Educator who will be responsible for community-based rehabilitation develops and implements individualized education plans (IEPs) for children with special needs who are receiving instructions online with support from CBR facilitators and parents.

Job Responsibilities

Following are the major roles and responsibilities of communication officer;

• Use tele-rehabilitation technology like video conferencing, Web portals, apps, and other tools to provide therapy and support to children with disabilities remotely.
• Provide support and accommodations to help children with special needs access the curriculum and participate in online learning activities.
• Communicate regularly with parents and CBR facilitators to monitor children’s progress and provide feedback.
• Identify and address any barriers to learning that children may be experiencing as a result of online instruction.
• Collaborate with other professionals, such as speech and Language Therapist, Senior Therapist, and Rehabilitation therapist, to provide specialized services to children with disabilities as needed.
• Provide training and make teaching-learning materials (TLMs) to teachers and other staff to help them effectively children with special needs in an online learning and home environment.
• Keep and maintain detailed records of the children with disabilities they work with, including progress reports, IEPs, and assessments, to track progress and make adjustments to the IEPs as needed.
• Has experience working with children with disabilities and community-based rehabilitation.
• Will report to the Project Coordinator.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of a 2 years of diploma/degree in special education (Cerebral Palsy (C.P. or Mental Retardation (M.R.)
• Experienced in schools or social sector
• Excellent oral/written communication skills in Hindi and English.
• At least 2 years of experience in the same field.
• Good theoretical grasp of the programmes and activities of the organization.
• Skills on social content development.

Job Offer:

• Full-time: 8 hours a day
• Gross Salary: Rs. 23,500/ CTC p.m.
• Contract Duration: 1-year contract with the intention of extension
• Location: Head Office Murdaha, Varanasi, U.P.
• Appointment: Project Based
