About the Position
BharatCares seeks a dedicated Associate Manager – Waste Management and Circular Economy to support and implement impactful, sustainable urban waste management programs across Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnataka.
The candidate will assist in identifying, developing and operationalizing waste management solutions and circular economy initiatives through CSR and philanthropic collaborations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the identification, design and implementation of urban waste management and circular economy projects aligned with BharatCares’ strategic objectives.
- Collaborate closely with the Manager and domain experts to execute projects effectively in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnataka.
- Engage and coordinate with local businesses, philanthropic organizations and government bodies to facilitate resource mobilization under CSR and ESG frameworks.
- Assist in conducting research and analysis of innovative technologies, best practices and viable waste management solutions.
- Develop project proposals, concept notes, detailed presentations and operational plans for potential collaborations.
- Provide on-ground coordination with municipal corporations, regulatory authorities and community stakeholders, ensuring program alignment with local and regional policy frameworks.
- Conduct regular monitoring, evaluation and documentation of project activities, generating comprehensive reports for stakeholders.
- Contribute to capacity-building activities and technical guidance within project communities and partner organizations.
- Participate in sector-related networks, forums and discussions to advocate best practices and promote knowledge exchange.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Waste Management, Sustainability or related fields.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience working on urban waste management, circular economy solutions or sustainability projects.
- Familiarity with policy, regulatory and institutional frameworks governing waste management in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and broadly in India.
- Experience collaborating with local government authorities, corporate CSR teams and community groups.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
- Analytical thinking with the ability to execute solution-oriented actions.
- Proficiency in proposal writing, documentation and reporting.
- Fluency in English and Hindi; proficiency in Marathi or Kannada is advantageous.
