Sangath's mission and expertise lies in developing and evaluating mental health interventions to be delivered through existing public systems. Its major thematic areas are: Child development and disability; adolescent health; mental disorders; and ageing. Sangath was awarded the prestigious MacArthur Foundation International Prize for Creative and Effective Institutions in 2008 and the WHO Public Health Champions Award for India in 2016. It has completed a number of randomized controlled trials for mental disorders in India, including the only two autism trials in the country.

Job Description

Sangath is seeking to recruit a Field Officer cum Video Editor for its NAMASTE programme. The ideal candidate will support in development and management of DBMS, assist in data collection procedures, perform accurate data entry troubleshoot technology issues while also handling video editing tasks to support project documentation, communication, and dissemination efforts. The role requires a combination of expertise in data management and proficiency in video/photo production/editing.

Job Responsibilities

Coordination with Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) and Field Team Support:

  • Establish and maintain regular communication with AWWs in the designated areas.
  • Collect incentive forms from AWWs within stipulated timelines.
  • Verify completeness and accuracy of submitted documentation before forwarding.
  • Review all incentive forms and supporting documents for accuracy, eligibility, and compliance with program guidelines.
  • Follow up with AWWs to correct any discrepancies or missing information.
  • Coordinate with the Finance Office for the timely processing of final payments.
  • Maintain proper records of submitted, verified, and processed forms.
  • Assist field teams in planning and conducting home visits as required.
  • Provide logistical support for field activities, including transportation, scheduling, and material distribution.

 Video Editing & Content Creation:

  • Capture, edit, and produce high-quality video content for training, communication, and promotional purposes.
  • Edit raw footage, add effects, transitions, and subtitles as needed.
  • Design engaging visual content, including animations and infographics.
  • Work with project teams to create visually engaging multimedia content.
  • Manage and organize video/photo files, ensuring proper archiving and documentation.
  • Ensure all video content aligns with branding and communication guidelines.

Data Management:

  • Support the development & management of data management platforms i.e. REDCap.
  • Designing digital tools for both desktop and handheld device interfaces using REDCap.
  • Data entry and systematic archiving of all non-digital data collection tools.
  • Ensure data integrity and security, following standard protocols.

Reporting:

  • Prepare reports and summaries of analytical findings, both for academic publications and internal purposes.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Coordinating with Field staff to collect data, provide timely feedback to data collectors for data discrepancies.
  • Support training of field level data collectors on use of instruments handheld devices.
  • Work closely with project teams to understand data or video/photo editing needs and requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on project progress and challenges.

 Documentation:

  • Day-to-day data backups on servers or external hard drives.
  • Any other activity as per the need of programme or tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field.
  • 1 to 4 years of experience in data management and proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Hands-on experience in video editing using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
  • Experience with motion graphics and animation (After Effects, Blender, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of video production, storytelling, and editing techniques.
  • Familiarity with social media trends and video content requirements.
  • Proficiency in English and Hindi (both written and verbal communication).

Desirable:

  • Experience with REDCap or other data collection platforms.
  • Experience and knowledge in mental health research.
  • Willingness to travel field sites within the country.
