ABOUT DIGITAL EQUALIZER PROGRAM

Digital Equaliser is AIF's flagship education program. DE envisions a world where all children from underserved communities, especially girls, are prepared for a career and life. The program is bridging India’s digital divide by providing and integrating technology into underperforming, under-resourced public schools, training teachers in techno-pedagogy and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) methodology, and transforming classrooms into collaborative and interactive places for students to learn while preparing them for success in the 21st-century global economy. Since its inception in 2004, the Program has empowered 9.02 million children with interactive STEM experiences, trained 247,857 teachers in STEM pedagogy, and transformed 51,441 schools across 35 states and union territories of the country.

PROJECT OBJECTIVE

The proposed intervention aims to strengthen the learning outcome of the students by training the teachers in the techno-pedagogy methodologies and supporting STEM learning inside as well as outside the classroom, inspiring students to work towards attaining higher education and pursuing a career in STEM. A well-structured program to strengthen the Government school student’s education with the following objectives:

  • To increase educational learning outcomes of students in STEM subjects in grades 6th to 10th in government schools under DE intervention.
  • To build the capacity of teachers to integrate techno-pedagogy, using AIFT’s DE Program’s standardized digital content portal DE Edukit for their blended approach of teaching.
  • Build 21st-century skills among students through STEM-based learning pathways and career awareness.
  • To create awareness about STEM career pathways.
  • Establish SILCs (STEM Innovation and Learning Center) to impart STEM-based learning in government schools.
  • Improve school infrastructure by providing digital infrastructure.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. STEM Pedagogy & Capacity Building

  • Teacher Training: Lead capacity-building sessions for government school teachers on techno-pedagogy methodologies and integrating standardized digital tools (e.g., DE Edukit) into their teaching practice.
  • Classroom Support: Demonstrate interactive STEM teaching methods, conduct model sessions, and assist teachers in adopting blended learning pathways.

2. Student Learning & Engagement

  • Outcome Enhancement: Facilitate interventions aimed at improving student learning outcomes in STEM subjects across grades 6th to 10th.
  • Skill Development: Drive initiatives that foster 21st-century skills, hands-on STEM learning experiences, and awareness of STEM career pathways among government school students.

3. School Infrastructure & SILC Management

  • Infrastructure Deployment: Oversee the setup and effective functional utilization of digital infrastructure and educational technology tools in assigned schools.
  • STEM Centers: Supervise and maintain STEM Innovation and Learning Centers (SILCs) to ensure continuous, high-quality hands-on learning activities.

4. Project Planning, Execution & Resource Management

  • Operating & Micro-Plans: Support in Developing operating plans and detailed micro-project plans aligned with organizational protocols and contractual MoU commitments.
  • Delivery Accountability: Ensure end-to-end accountability for the timely, high-quality execution of all project activities in accordance with agreed-upon timelines and quality standards for all intervention schools.
  • Resource & Risk Management: Support in optimizing project time, budget, and resources; assess project risks on an ongoing basis and implement necessary corrective actions.

5. Governance, Approvals & Legal Compliance

  • Stakeholder Approvals: Support in securing required permissions and approvals from local government authorities, school leaders, and partners for seamless project implementation.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Support in maintaining complete documentation for project activities, including legal contracts, administrative records, and expense tracking.
  • Policy Adherence: Support in ensuring full compliance with legal, financial, and statutory mandates (e.g., taxation, labor laws, POSH, Child Protection, Code of Conduct, and internal HR/admin policies).

6. Financial Management & Expense Tracking

  • Budget Monitoring: Support in managing and tracking project budgets, fund utilization, and financial records for internal audit and external reporting.
  • Local Approvals & Procurement: Coordinate with regional finance and procurement teams to manage local expense approvals and administrative procurements adhering to organizational norms.

7. Government Representation & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Government Relations: Build and maintain strong working relationships with local government officials and school administrators to promote program sustainability and scalability.
  • Donor & Visitor Management: Serve as the key point of contact during field visits for donors, organizational leadership, and Board members; organize periodic updates and support feedback loops.

8. Reporting, Monitoring & Communications

  • Data & Review Tracking: Maintain real-time project monitoring data via tracking platforms and prepare high-quality reports for monthly and quarterly reviews.
  • MEL & Impact Support: Work alongside the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team to conduct field studies and evaluate program impact.
  • Communications: Capture success stories, photos, videos, and brief updates to support regional communication and social media initiatives.
  • Organizational Ambassadorship: Represent the organization with high integrity, adhering to organizational values and contributing to broader organizational goals.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Engineering (ECE, EEE, Mechanical, Civil, Computer Science) / ME / B.Tech / M.Tech.
  • Post-graduation in Maths/Physics/Computer Science with Education.
  • 3 to 6 years of experience.

Skills :

  • Proficiency in use of MS office, MS Excel and statistical tools is a must.
  • Possesses a variety of skills – multi tasking, time management, flexibility and adaptability.
  • Good communication skills in English and local language – both written and verbal
  • Good Analytical skills and problem solver.
  • Ability to work in the field, with communities and in multi-stakeholder processes.
  • Readiness to travel and commit to demanding program requirements.

OTHERS: Salary shall be commensurate with experience.
