Job Overview, Job Background and Purpose

Execute institutional communication strategy, coordinate cross-functional content development, and ensure high-quality delivery of communication outputs across digital and offline platforms.

This opening is ideal for young professionals with 1–3 years of experience seeking to build a career in strategy-led development communications. The Program Leader supports the execution and operationalisation of the Foundation’s communication strategy, translating strategic direction into high-quality communication assets across platforms.

The Program Leader focuses on execution, coordination, and production of communication assets. The role acts as the coordination hub between program teams, communication agencies, designers, and digital platforms, ensuring that stories, insights, and program updates are converted into structured communication outputs.

The role provides hands-on exposure to institutional storytelling, brand governance, digital media creation and tracking, and multi-format communication execution across domains including Education, Health, Nutrition, Leadership, Gender, and Water.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

1. Communication Planning & Execution

  • Execute communication plans through structured and agile content calendars.
  • Drive end-to-end development of assets across digital, print, video, and events.
  • Develop platform-appropriate social media content, including copy, captions, relevant hashtags, and supporting content inputs.
  • Ensure sharp timelines, seamless rollouts, and disciplined execution.
  • Coordinate content publishing and ensure timely deployment across relevant digital platforms.

2. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Act as the communication SPOC for program teams, sourcing stories, insights, and updates from the field.
  • Translate program inputs into communication briefs and structured outputs.
  • Coordinate with agencies and creators to deliver high-quality assets.
  • Identify emerging stories and opportunities to showcase program impact.

3. Brand Integrity, Compliance & Quality Control

  • Manage approval workflows and review outputs for accuracy, narrative sharpness, brand consistency, and quality.
  • Ensure social media content and account activities adhere to applicable organisational, regulatory, and platform-specific requirements, with necessary approvals and permissions in place before publishing.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and records for social media content, approvals, and account-related activities.
  • Identify and escalate potential compliance, reputational, or content risks to relevant stakeholders.

4. Content Strategy & Social Media Engagement

  • Research and highlight emerging trends, formats, and relevant conversations across social media platforms.
  • Use digital tools to assess digital footprints, audience sentiment, and potential opportunities or risks.
  • Contribute to content planning by identifying relevant themes, formats, and content opportunities based on emerging trends, audience interests, and program priorities.
  • Support community engagement by responding to comments, messages, and relevant interactions across the Foundation’s social media platforms, in line with established guidelines.

Skills and Attributes

Skills/Abilities

  • Create, manage, and coordinate high-quality, platform-appropriate communication assets across digital, social media, print, multimedia, website, and events.
  • Strong social media content writing skills, with the ability to develop engaging copy, captions, calls-to-action, and relevant hashtags.
  • Comfortable using social listening, digital monitoring, and social media analytics tools, with the ability to interpret data and generate insights.
  • Basic understanding of social media governance, compliance, content approvals, and quality-control processes.
  • Strong coordination, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deliverables and timelines with discipline.
  • Ability to use and maintain content calendars to plan, track, and coordinate social media and communication deliverables.

  • Postgraduate degree in Communications, Media, Marketing, or related field
