About Kerala Startup Mission

KSUM is the State Nodal Government Agency that support the startup ecosystem by means of building or connecting different components such as Infrastructure, Incubators and Accelerators, Industry collaboration,R&D connect and Institutional linkages, Skilled Talent creation, Funding, Government Support, International Collaborations, Scaling Existing and Establishing New Incubators/accelerators and build up a model for moving fast from ideas to IPO/Unicorns.

Internship Overview:

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic trainees to support the operations and training programs at Fab Lab Kerala. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work with advanced fabrication technologies and contribute to various projects, from prototyping to full-scale production.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the operation and maintenance of various fabrication machines such as  3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, PCB Milling machine and other  equipment.
• Aid in the preparation and delivery of training sessions for students, entrepreneurs,   Mini fab lab and other lab users.
• Support ongoing projects by providing technical assistance and guidance to lab   users.
• Maintain accurate records of machine usage, Consumable stock, maintenance   schedules and training sessions.
• Ensure that all safety protocols are followed in the lab and during Training/Visit   sessions.
• Provide excellent customer service to lab users, addressing their questions and   needs effectively.

Educational Qualification

• Graduates from a relevant program B-Tech in (EC, Design, ME, etc.) or Fab   Academy graduates

Experience and Skills

• Basic knowledge of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino).
• Familiarity with fabrication technologies (3D printing, laser cutting, CNC machining)  will be an added advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to travel to mini Fab Labs across Kerala as needed.

Duration

• 6 months (Extendable up to 1 year upon requirement)
