About the Organization

Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) is a not-for-profit Section 8, Schedule B, Public Sector Enterprise, under Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India as an Interface Agency to strengthen and empower the emerging Biotech enterprise to undertake strategic research and innovation, addressing nationally relevant product development needs.

Job Responsibilities

• Work closely with experts/stakeholders to identify priorities.
• Support the technical team with project appraisal, technical due diligence and related organizational activities of the vertical.
• Project management for various programs as sanctioned. Make detailed observations, analyze data and interpret results.
• Monitoring & Technical evaluation of projects under various programs to meet targets.
• Evaluate the project-specific technologies, project results, products, and processes and define future strategies.
• Initiate and manage external relationships and collaborations with academic and commercial parties.
• Understand team objectives and cooperate and collaborate with other colleagues to achieve them.
• Adhere to internal and external compliance responsibilities in a timely manner.
• Making presentations for the technical department as and when required.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• PhD in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Pharma/ Bioinformatics/Agriculture and associated areas from a recognized institute.

Experience:

• Between 3 to 10 years with minimum 2 years of experience in translational and product development activities, or related area of research in industry or academic research institutes.
• Desirable: Working Experience in Molecular biology/Protein biology/ Big data analytics, AI and Machine leaning applications to biological systems and related areas/Agriculture (crop biotechnology), Secondary agriculture and related areas.
• Having project management experience will be an added advantage.
