About the Organization

The M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) was established in 1988 as a not-for-profit trust. MSSRF was envisioned and founded by Professor M. S. Swaminathan. The Foundation aims to accelerate the use of modern science for agricultural and rural development through the development and dissemination of technology to improve the lives and livelihoods of tribal and rural communities. MSSRF follows a pro-poor, pro-women, and pro-nature approach and applies appropriate science and technology options to address practical problems faced by rural populations in agriculture, food, and nutrition. MSSRF is present in nine states of India.

Job Description

Efficient Rain Water Management and Soil Conservation Interventions to enhance spice production for promotion of livelihood security of small and marginal farmers in Koraput, Odisha – RKVY- Spices

Project objectives:

• Promoting spice cultivation to improve socio-economic condition of resource poor farmers. 
• To improve crop productivity by rain water management and soil conservation interventions. 
• To strengthen backward and forward linkages for market value chain development of spices through primary processing 
• To improve the technological, technical-know-how of farmers by capacity building through training, demonstrations and exposure visits.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Graduation in any discipline.
• A minimum 2 years of experience on FPO management in value addition and other activities with tribal communities.

Desirable Qualification 

• The candidate should have valid DL for driving two-wheeler. 
• The candidate should have basic computer knowledge with documentation skill.
• Experience in working with tribal communities.
• Knowledge on the local language.
