Position Summary

The Senior Research Consultant will lead research and consulting assignments, manage project teams, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality outputs. This role is ideal for a mid-level professional looking to contribute to knowledge generation, evidence-based decision-making, and strategic initiatives in sustainability and climate action. It combines research execution, client engagement, and managerial responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Analysis

• Lead cutting-edge research on MSME decarbonisation, sustainable agriculture, and climate-resilient development.
• Track and analyze policy developments, market trends, and technology innovations.
• Stay updated on environmental and social issues at grassroots and policy levels.

Strategy & Publications

• Author high-impact policy briefs, white papers, reports, and case studies for diverse stakeholders.
• Translate complex findings into actionable insights for teams and partners.

Program Support

• Collaborate with implementation teams to embed research insights into on-ground and advocacy work.
• Co-develop monitoring frameworks for impact evaluation.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Engage with think tanks, academia, government bodies, and donor agencies.
• Represent SwitchON in consultations, conferences, and policy forums.

Project Management & Delivery

• Manage research and consulting projects from inception to delivery.
• Supervise teams, allocate responsibilities, and ensure adherence to timelines.
• Interact with clients to maintain satisfaction and oversee deliverables and payments.
• Support the creation of proposals and concept notes (BD targets not a focus).

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Education:

Master’s in Business Administration ( Finance), Economics, Engineering ( Civil / Electrical / Metallurgical), Public Policy, or relevant fields.

Experience:

4–6 years of experience in research consulting, policy analysis, or project management. Experience in sustainability/climate/development sectors preferred.

Skills:

• Strong research and analytical skills
• Excellent writing and communication
• Data visualization and publication design
• Project and team management
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PPT, Word)
• Familiarity with policy issues related to MSMEs, agriculture, or climate action

Reporting Structure

• Reports To: General Manager – Research & Strategy
• Team Size: Supervises 2–4 junior team members (researchers/analysts)

Travel Requirements

Occasional travel across India for stakeholder meetings, field visits, or client interactions depending on project scope.

Compensation

• Annual CTC: ₹8–10 Lakhs (Fixed)
• Additional Benefits: Variable Pay + Commitment Bonus
• Reimbursement: All official travel and logistics per policy
• Final compensation will be based on qualifications, experience, and current salary.
