Job Description
Sr. Officer, Field Program will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of strategies, policies, guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aimed at addressing the issue of Online Sexual Exploitation and Abuse of Children (OSEAC) in collaboration with ChildFund India and the State Commissions for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCRs). The incumbent will provide technical expertise and leadership to ensure effective interventions and initiatives are undertaken to safeguard children from online risks. Sr. Officer, Field Program takes the lead in coordinating with subject matter experts in Child Protection and Advocacy as well as Education, exploring fundraising avenues, and leveraging their own expertise to drive successful strategy implementation.
Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding policy and procedures and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with ChildFund’s Child Safeguarding Policy.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with SCPCR and ChildFund India to develop an implementation on program planning, execution, team building, monitoring, reporting etc.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify best practices, emerging trends, and innovative solutions for addressing OSEAC.
- Provide technical guidance and support to OSCPCR and relevant stakeholders in the implementation of OSEAC-related policies and interventions.
- Facilitate capacity-building initiatives for OSCPCR officials and other stakeholders on OSEAC prevention, detection, and response mechanisms.
- Lead the development of educational materials, training modules, toolkits, and other resources to raise awareness and enhance understanding of OSEAC among various stakeholders
- Liaise with government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and other partners to strengthen collaboration and coordination efforts in addressing OSEAC.
- Monitor progress and outcomes of OSEAC interventions and regularly assess the effectiveness of implemented strategies to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Provide timely reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual), updates, and recommendations to ChildFund India on the status of OSEAC initiatives and activities.
- Provide strategic guidance on emerging trends, risks, and opportunities related to online child protection and opportunities for influencing, funding, and programming.
- Provide regular guidance to project team, Trainers and Jr. Consultant and other project team further review their progress.
- Collaborate with ChildFund India’s business development and fundraising teams to identify and pursue opportunities for additional grants and partnerships for OSEAC programs.
- Any additional task assigned by Thematic Specialists and Specialist Programs.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Master’s degree in social work, Child Rights, Development Studies, Human Rights, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in child protection, with a focus on addressing issues related to online sexual exploitation and abuse of children.
- Demonstrated networking experience with multilateral agencies, foundations, and other institutions focused on child development and protection programming.
- Proven expertise in developing and implementing strategies, policies, guidelines, and interventions to prevent and respond to OSEAC.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct research, data analysis, and evidence-based decision-making.
- Sound understanding of child rights, child protection frameworks, and relevant legislation, particularly in the context of online safety and digital literacy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, and community members.
