About the Organization

Sundarban Social Development Centre (SSDC) is a non-government not-for-profit organization situated at the Sundarban delta region of West Bengal, India. Since its advent as a social development organization in 1989, SSDC has been keeping itself involved for the well-being of the people living at disaster prone Sundarban island areas, which are typically identified as socio economically backward in all scenes of remoteness and poor living standard. Most of the people here poorest of the poor category, for which they are living behind the ray of modernisation and development yet. Being a registered NGO under the Society Registration Act 1961, SSDC is devoted and is working for the last 3 decades for the wellbeing of the people of South 24 Parganas district since its inception. Presently we are running several community-based development activities in the areas of Mother and Child Health, Education, Nutrition, Women Empowerment, Livelihood, Water, Sanitation, Eye health care and services including Environment Protection and Disaster Risk Reduction activities in the district of South 24 Parganas while giving special attention to the remotest Sundarban island areas.

Job Responsibilities

• Developing and customizing KOBO tool applications to meet the specific needs of project focused on maternal health and WASH management (Software development will be for 30 days)
• Training staff and stakeholders on the effective use of KOBO tools to ensure accurate and efficient data collection (repeated orientation to the grassroot workers will be within the rest of 60 days and finding solution(s) to the flaws)
• Collaborating with project teams to understand their requirements and provide innovative solutions to enhance data-driven decision-making.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge on the latest KOBO tool features and best practices.
• Supporting troubleshooting and technical assistance to ensure smooth operation of the software.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in software development, with proficiency in KOBO tools or similar platforms.
• Strong teaching and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Background in public health, particularly in maternal health and WASH, is highly desirable.
• Must be fluent in Bengali language (This is a Must). Native speaker of Bengali language will be highly preferred.
• Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing solutions.
