Job Description

Oorja is seeking a proactive and technically curious Technology Intern to join our team. You will play a key role in supporting our data-driven operations, from supporting the development of our new mobile app, integrating and analyzing diverse datasets to optimizing workflows and assisting with our IT infrastructure. You’ll gain hands-on experience across system design, process optimization, software evaluation, and IT operations—contributing directly to the development of our proprietary Dhoop mobile app and the rollout of our CRM/ERP platform.

Job Responsibilities

Product & Software Development

• Participate in the development Phase 2 of the development of our Dhoop app, involving working closely with a team of developers and acting as a co-contract manager.
• Collaborate on designing and implementing workflow automations using APIs and third-party tools.
• Track progress, manage issue logs, and ensure alignment with Oorja’s technical requirements.
• Research and evaluate asset management systems, ERP modules, and data-visualization platforms.
• Produce comparative assessments and present recommendations to stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., Python, JavaScript) to automate data connectivity across applications.
• Assist with API integrations and troubleshoot data pipelines.

 

Data Integration & Management

• Link, consolidate, and maintain datasets spanning sales, site selection, audits, inventory, and performance metrics; support decision making with data analysis.
• Build, maintain, and interpret interactive dashboards and reports to track KPIs and inform strategic decisions.
• Perform ad hoc analyses to uncover insights and guide operational improvements.
• Ensure data consistency across workflows and handoffs.

Process Optimization

• Identify bottlenecks in data flow and propose improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Document current processes and support rollout of optimized procedures.
• IT Operations & Platform Setup
• Help configure and roll out Odoo for CRM and ERP functionality.
• Support user-onboarding, troubleshooting, and integration of add-on modules as we expand toward a fully functional ERP.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

Education & Coursework

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
• Completed coursework in databases, systems design, and programming.

Technical Skills

• Proficient with SQL and familiarity with relational database concepts.
• Experience or coursework using Python (or similar) for scripting and API interaction.
• Exposure to data-visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or open-source alternatives).

Tools & Platforms

• Hands-on experience (academic or personal projects) with workflow automation tools (e.g., Zapier, n8n) or API-first platforms.
• Interest in learning/working with Odoo (or other ERP/CRM systems).
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Abilities
• Strong quantitative and critical-thinking skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to translate business questions into data-driven analyses.
