Job Description

We are looking for a proactive and creative Assistant/Deputy Manager to join the Outreach and Communications Team of YIF at Ashoka University. This role involves supporting and leading the planning and execution of digital campaigns, social media content, and outreach events. The ideal candidate should have a keen eye for engaging communication, a hands-on approach to content creation, and the ability to coordinate across multiple teams and external stakeholders. Prior experience with digital ads and social media boosts is a strong plus. The role will involve end-to-end ownership of projects, from ideation and strategy to content production, posting, performance tracking, and reporting. You’ll be expected to contribute to campaign planning, manage timelines, and bring in fresh storytelling ideas that resonate with diverse audiences. Job Responsibilities

The following are broad responsibilities for the role. Based on the qualifications, experience and interests of the ideal candidate, the responsibilities may be modified:

  • Campaign strategy and project management, including efforts to celebrate 15 years of YIF
  • Digital marketing, content creation and social media
  • Relationship building and network management

Campaign Strategy, Execution & Digital Outreach

  • Ideate, strategies, plan and execute holistic campaign plans using offline, hybrid and digital channels, including those to mark 15 years of YIF.
  • Track performance of posts and campaigns using basic analytics tools.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams for timely dissemination of communication across channels

Social Media & Content Creation

  • Support the creation and scheduling of engaging content across platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Create short-form and long-form content (text, image, video) in collaboration with designers and video editors.
  • Independently shoot basic video content featuring faculty, alumni, and stakeholders for digital use, including asking relevant questions and framing the narrative.
  • Maintain a rolling two-week content calendar in coordination with the team.
  • Monitor trends to keep content fresh, relevant, and audience-friendly.

Outreach Events & Sessions

  • Help coordinate and support online and offline outreach events
  • Serve as a point of contact for key outreach efforts, helping build and maintain relationships.
  • Assist in conducting virtual and in-person sessions when required, including logistical support and content prep.

Relationship & Network Building

  • Liaise with college representatives, student organizations, and youth communities to broaden outreach channels.
  • Assist in managing and nurturing relationships with institutional stakeholders across cities.
  • Collaborate with the Alumni Relations Office to track alumni journeys and career trajectories, and contribute to content creation that highlights the diverse pathways our alumni pursue.
  • Maintain structured records of institutional and alumni contacts and interactions to support long-term relationship-building efforts.
  • Capture basic photo/video documentation during interactions with alumni, faculty, and key stakeholders, and contribute to building a digital archive of compelling narratives.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Media, or a related field. Master’s preferred.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of relevant experience in social media management, digital campaigns, or outreach roles.

Skill Sets:

  • Excellent written and spoken English. Additional languages may be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with content tools (Canva, Meta Business Suite, Google Ads basics).
  • Project management and workplanning. (Proficient in Excel)
  • Good sense of aesthetics and storytelling.
  • Ability to multitask, adapt quickly, and work independently.
  • Comfort with travel for outreach events from time to time
  • Basic video editing or coordination skills are a plus.
