About the Organization

Established in 2007, the National Health Systems Resource Centre, a premier Think Tank for MoHFW, is mandated to assist in policy and strategy development in the provision and mobilization of technical assistance to the states and in capacity building for the Ministry of Health.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and monitor health promotion strategies for NP-NCD aligned with national priorities and global best practices.
• Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in health promotion activities and prioritize interventions targeting NCD prevention (e.g., tobacco control, diet, physical activity, alcohol reduction).
• Develop state-specific health promotion plans in coordination with state NCD cells and stakeholders.
• Create culturally appropriate Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials (print, digital, audiovisual) for diverse audiences (communities, schools, workplaces).
• Adapt global/regional health promotion tools and guidelines to the Indian context.
• Strengthen partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, media, academia, and private sector stakeholders to amplify NCD awareness campaigns.
• Coordinate with other national health programs (e.g., NTCP, RBSK) to integrate NCD prevention messaging.
• Design and support community-based interventions (e.g., health camps, workshops) to promote healthy behaviors.
• Mobilize community health workers (ASHAs, ANMs) and volunteers for NCD prevention activities.
• Develop and deliver training programs for frontline workers on health promotion techniques, behavior change communication (BCC), and NCD risk factor reduction.
• Evaluate the impact of training programs and refine approaches based on feedback.
• Establish indicators to measure the effectiveness of health promotion activities and analyze data for scalability and impact.
• Leverage digital platforms (social media, apps, webinars) to disseminate NCD prevention messages.
• Explore innovative technologies (e.g., gamification, chatbots) for youth engagement in health promotion.
• Document best practices, case studies, and success stories for national/international dissemination.
• Represent NP-NCD in technical meetings, workshops, and conferences.
• Undertake any other tasks assigned by the National Programme Coordinator.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• MBBS/BDS/AYUSH with Post Graduate Degree in Community Medicine/Community Health Administration/Public Health with 2 years experience after obtaining post graduate degree.

                               OR

• MBBS/AYUSH/BDS with 5 years experience in Public Health at National/State level

Salary

Rs. 1,20,000 per month
