- Employment type: Contractual. 1 yr contract, renewable to maximum 2 years.

- Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Public Health/ Social Work/ preferred; equivalent experience in community health also considered
Position Overview
The Health Consultant will play a crucial role in strengthening community-based health systems and building linkages with public health departments. The Health Consultant will provide technical leadership and support for health initiatives across the organization's operational areas. This includes capacity-building of Animators, facilitating strong linkages with government health departments, and serving as the primary point of contact for field teams on health-related matters.
Core Responsibilities (70%)
1. Capacity Building and Technical Support
- Design and conduct trainings and refresher sessions for Animators, Zonal Coordinator and community volunteers.
- Ensure training modules are aligned with national guidelines and local health needs.
- Provide ongoing mentoring and field support to Animators and Zonal Coordinators
2. Government Liaison and Convergence
- Establish and maintain relationships with health officials at the district and block levels
- Facilitate community-level health initiatives in coordination with government stakeholders and platforms (e.g., VHNDs, immunization drives, Community based mass screenings)
- Provide awareness session on Government schemes and their eligibility in the Community.
- Represent the organization in local health forums and platforms
3. Field-Level Support and Troubleshooting
- Act as the first point of contact for all health-related, Treatment adherence, Nutrition and de-addiction queries and advice.
- Support health data validation and reporting processes in collaboration with the MEAL team
- Conduct regular Health awareness session in the community
- Prepare and ensure usage of IEC materials related to disease, its prevention and treatment.
- Conduct regular field visits to ensure quality implementation of health activities
Other Responsibilities (30%)
- Support in planning, monitoring, and documentation of health interventions
- Assist in preparing reports, case studies, and learning documents for donors and internal use.
- Participate in cross-functional reviews and learning workshops.
- Stay updated on public health trends and guidelines to inform program adaptation.
Eligibility
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, or related field or equivalent practical experience in implementing community health projects
- 5-6 years of experience in public health, especially in rural or low-resource settings.
- Strong understanding of the Indian public health system and key government health programs
- Knowledge of Health software application and basic computer knowledge is desirable.
- Experience in adult learning methodologies and community facilitation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in Hindi and English; knowledge of local languages like Nepali is mandatory, Bengali would be an advantage.
- Willingness to travel extensively to field locations.
