Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Education requirements: Master’s degree in environmental science or equivalent with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Life Sciences, Biotechnology or equivalent.

Work Experience:

• 5 years of relevant experiences in preparing State Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (SBSAP), conduct of consultative workshops/ meetings, coordination/ planning of programmes / projects relevant to biodiversity conservation, environmental management, and wildlife management.

Competencies

Functional Competencies:

• Adequate knowledge of concepts, policies, regulatory laws, practices, and ongoing programmes/ schemes related to biodiversity, ecosystem management, landscape approach to conservation, protected area planning and management, and participatory approaches.
• Broad based knowledge of cross cutting social issues influencing biodiversity, thematic areas, and aspects of environmental and social safeguards.
• Relevant experience at the national/ state level working with Governments entities in the biodiversity conservation sector, national/state level conservation/ scientific organizations, and community leaders.
• Proven experience in working with multiple stakeholders including Central and/ or State Government / International Agencies.
• Experience in review of scientific literature related to biodiversity.
• Familiarity with the BIOFIN methodology.
• Experience of efficiently using Microsoft Windows, Word Processing, Excel, preparation of Power Point presentations.
• Strong integrity and ethical standards.
• Excellent interpersonal, networking and team building skills
