About the Program:
The Inclusive Livelihoods Program aims to improve the economic well-being and resilience of marginalized communities in Chhattisgarh by promoting inclusive, sustainable, and diversified livelihood options. The program focuses on skill enhancement, market linkages, entrepreneurship, and capacity building to foster self-reliance and dignity among vulnerable populations including women, tribal communities, and persons with disabilities.
The proposed program will introduce holistic productive inclusion strategies to improve the lives of excluded populations, targeting women living in extreme poverty and exclusion. It will adapt a globally tested and proven “Graduation Approach” to the Inclusive Livelihoods programme to reach those households that are presently having difficulty benefiting from the Self-Help Group net.
Position summary:
Coaching & Capacity Building Specialist under the Inclusive Livelihoods Programme will play a crucial role in empowering project participants through designing, delivering, and monitoring capacity-building interventions to enhance the capabilities of community members, partner organizations, and field teams aimed at fostering sustainable, long-term socio-economic upliftment in their lives.
Coaching & Capacity Building Specialist will ensure that all coaching, training and mentoring efforts are tailored to the needs of diverse stakeholders and aligned with the goals of inclusive, market-linked, and sustainable livelihoods. The position will be based at the Chhattisgarh SRLM office (Naya Raipur).
Key Responsibilities:
This role involves working in collaboration with state and district/block level partners along with CGSRLM and BRAC. The position will report to the Lead Project Management Unit - Chhattisgarh at Trickle Up and will work closely with NPMU. The key roles and responsibilities include:
- Conduct training needs assessment, identify capacity gaps and training needs of different stakeholders and partners including CGSRLM, partners, line departments and Project participants.
- Provide strategic guidance for the design and implementation of coaching and capacity-building initiatives within the Inclusive Livelihood Program based on the contextualized need of the CGSRLM.
- Collaborate with Chhattisgarh SRLM to develop implementation timelines tailored to the state.
- Design/develop training modules, tools, and resource materials, customized to the socio-economic context of rural Chhattisgarh specially targeting the extremely poor project participants, project staffs and implementing partners.
- Lead the contextualization of all coaching & Capacity Building modules and the Community Operations Manual to align with the needs of CGSRLM & the targeted Project Participants.
- Develop the overall structure and implement framework for coaching & Capacity Building interventions across stakeholder groups, considering Project participant specific contexts of CGSRLM.
- Possess a strong understanding of poverty alleviation strategies, gender dynamics, and rural livelihoods to inform the design and content of training modules/manuals.
- Based on the local need, innovate and introduce effective methodologies and pedagogical approaches for coaching and training of diverse stakeholders including project Participants.
- Create and maintain an online and/or offline repository of contextualized coaching modules, including best practices, training materials, and process documentation.
- Support CGSRLM in onboarding agencies for the development of target audience specific audio-visual training materials and effective roll out of the same.
- Monitor and track the capacity-building progress of Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), participating households, and field level coaches, project staff and implementing partners.
- Coordinate & provide needful support to thematic leads of CGSRLM and the PMU Lead to enhance program delivery and contribute to overall program performance in the state.
- Provide continuous support and mentoring to district and block-level staff to ensure effective implementation of coaching and capacity building initiatives under Inclusive Livelihoods Programme.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities as assigned by the PMU Lead or Thematic Leads of CGSRLM.
Academic Qualification:
- Master’s Degree/Diploma in Public Policy, Economics, Rural Livelihoods, Rural Development, Entrepreneurship, Social Work, Development Studies, Business Administration or higher-level studies in relevant fields or equivalent from reputed institutions.
Professional Experience:
- The candidate should have at least 05 years of professional experience of working in rural livelihoods and poverty alleviation projects, out of which, 03 years of experience should be in the related field.
- Strong understanding of developing, planning and managing programs.
- Experience in developing a program on the scale.
- Proven track record in designing and delivering participatory training programs.
- Experience working with rural grassroots communities, especially for capacity-building, social protection, rural development.
- Familiarity with inclusive development approaches, particularly working with marginalized and underrepresented groups.
- Proficiency in Hindi and English. Working knowledge of local dialects (Chhattisgarhi) is an advantage.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated capacities in facilitation and training design.
- Experience in applying strong interpersonal skills to support teams in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and multicultural environment.
- Demonstrated ability to support team members with competing priorities, showing strong time and task management capacity.
- Hands on experience in training – capacity building and coaching will be preferred
- Willingness to travel and stay in remote-locations rural areas, as and when required.

Travel Requirements
You must be able to travel domestically at least 60% of the time to remote areas, at short notice.
