Trickle Up India Foundation (TUIF) is a nationally registered non-profit organization that partners with women in deprivation in India to build economic opportunity and drive inclusion. Together with governments and local non-governmental organizations, we reach underserved women in remote, rural areas with programming that enables them to forge their own resilient pathways out of poverty for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Since 2013, TUIF has been empowering women in ultra-poverty who have faced discrimination, and social and economic isolation all their lives. Through our programs, they develop sustainable livelihoods and strong savings habits, strengthening their capacity, self-reliance, and stability. They begin building their self-esteem and resilience. Job Description

The position will work under the Project Management Unit lead and spearhead the inclusive livelihood strategy. In addition, this position will have to work in close coordination with other thematic leads, along with integration and coordination with SRLM and DAY-NRLM.

Job Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the development of policies and strategies aimed at addressing the unique challenges faced by PVTGs, ensuring their inclusion and welfare in government programs and initiatives.
  • Lead and manage the work on PVTG within the program strategy with the State Rural Livelihoods Mission and with key stakeholders.
  • Identify government programs and schemes that can be leveraged and support PVTG convergence efforts.
  • Providing training and capacity-building support to SRLM staff, coaches, and community leaders working with PVTGs, to enhance their understanding of the issues and improve their ability to implement effective interventions.
  • Support in creating and coordinating a community of practice for civil society and the private sector working on PVTG in inclusive livelihood programs.
  • Develop coaching and capacity-building curriculum meant for skill development and upgradation activities aim at enhancing the livelihood and income generating capacity of the PVTGs on a long -term sustainable basis.
  • Advocating for the rights and interests of PVTGs at various forums, including government meetings, conferences, and civil society platforms. Building and maintaining partnerships with relevant stakeholders to leverage resources and support for PVTG-focused initiatives.
  • Documenting best practices, case studies, and lessons learned from interventions targeting PVTGs, and disseminating this knowledge to relevant stakeholders to inform future programming and policy development.
  • Coordination with the concerned districts and block level positions to facilitate the districts and block in preparation of the timeline of the implementation based on the states assigned.
  • Coordinate with other thematic leads and PMU lead in improving the delivery of the program and ensure to contribute to the progress and performance of the program.
  • Any other task assigned by the PMU lead or by SRLM.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Master's degree in public policy, Economics, Rural Development, Environment, Climate Change, or Sustainability

Professional Experience:

  • The candidate should have minimum 2 years of professional experience, Preference will be given to the candidate who has experience of working with the government.
  • Strong understanding of developing, planning and managing programs with a strategic focus on PVTG and other marginalised tribal communities and experience in developing a program on the scale.
  • Strong understanding of the policy landscape and government frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of field-level challenges in rural India concerning the delivery of government programs and schemes.
  • Extensive experience working on climate resilience, preferably with inclusive livelihood programs.
  • Excellent project management skills as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and stay in remote rural areas when required.
