Compensation:

• INR 6,000/day for desk-based (non-travel) working days

• INR 8,000/day for on-field/project site days
  Boarding, lodging, and travel expenses will be covered as per actuals.

About the Role

We are seeking a Part-Time Expert Consultant – Rejuvenation of Water Bodies (RWB) with strong technical grounding in hydrology, soil science, watershed structures, and civil engineering aspects of urban and peri-urban water bodies. The consultant will provide advisory and implementation support for rejuvenation of lakes, ponds, stepwells, and stormwater channels. The focus will be on ensuring sustainable water recharge, ecological restoration, sediment management, inlet–outlet flow design, and bank stabilization.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct technical assessments of water bodies including topography, bathymetry, hydrology, and encroachment mapping.

• Provide technical inputs for design and rehabilitation of inlets, outlets, and catchment channels, including basic civil engineering drawings and BoQs.

• Recommend and review soil stabilization, de-silting, bund strengthening, and vegetation-based slope protection measures.

• Guide implementation partners on silt trap construction, inflow–outflow balancing, and eco-restoration practices.

• Support in preparing detailed project reports (DPRs), including cost estimations, phased rejuvenation plans, and risk mitigation strategies.

• Work with municipal teams, water resource departments, and local stakeholders for field assessments, approvals, and capacity building.

• Monitor on-site progress and troubleshoot implementation issues through periodic field visits and technical reviews.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience in water resource management, watershed development, hydrology, or civil engineering related to natural resource structures.

• Proven expertise in urban water body restoration, lake rejuvenation, or stormwater channel revival projects.

• Sound understanding of inlet/outlet hydrodynamics, soil–water interaction, basic hydraulic design, and nature-based solutions.

• Prior experience with government programs (e.g., AMRUT, Jal Shakti Abhiyan) or CSR-led environmental projects is desirable.

• Strong documentation and coordination skills; ability to provide practical, on-ground solutions in varying geographies.

• Willingness to travel for site assessments, stakeholder consultations, and review visits.

Engagement Terms

• Type: Part-Time Consultancy (as per project need)

• Remuneration: INR 6,000/day (desk-based); INR 8,000/day (on-field)
  Travel, boarding, and lodging expenses will be reimbursed as per actuals.
