About the Organization
The International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai, formerly known as the Demographic Training and Research Centre (DTRC) till 1970, was established in July 1956 under the joint sponsorship of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, the Government of India and the United Nations. It serves as a regional centre for Training and Research in Population Studies for the ESCAP region. The Institute was re-designated to its present title in 1985 to facilitate the expansion of its academic activities. It was declared as a 'Deemed to be University' on August 14, 1985, under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The recognition has facilitated the award of recognized degrees by the Institute itself and paved the way for further expansion of the Institute as an academic institution. In 2006, the Institute celebrated its Golden Jubilee.
Job Responsibilities
- Planning, operationalizing and coordinating the work of the Health and Biomarker components of the LASI project.
- Manage the technical aspects of data validation, and ensuring indicators are used, methodologies are acceptable and comparable data is being analyzed and validated.
- Any other responsibility relating to the survey that may be assigned from time to time bv IIPS.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
Essential:
- BUMS/BAMS/BHMS /BDSI along with l year experience in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems within the health sector.
- Demonstrated experiencein publichealth/healthcare/National health system/health Policy/Clinical research/Health Surveys.
- Understanding of quantitative research methods and measurement in large scale demographic and health survey with Biomarker component
- Proficient in MS 0ffice Suite fWord, Excel, PowerPoint).
Desirable:
- Understandingthe health monitoring and evaluation [M&E), including the meaning and measurement of main indicators.
- Experience in clinical diagnostics in field survey settings.
- State language proficiency (reading writing and speaking).
- Oral and written communication skills in Hindi, English and local language.
Salary
Rs. 50,000/- Per Month (Consolidated)
