About the Project

The Tribal TB Active Case Finding Initiative is implemented by Piramal Foundation in partnership with the STOP TB Partnership and supported through the U.S. Department of State.

The project aims to strengthen tuberculosis (TB) detection and linkage to treatment among underserved tribal populations across India.

Phase 1 will:

  • Screen approximately 2 million people.
  • Cover 24 districts across 8 high-burden states.
  • Deploy 150 mobile screening teams.
  • Use AI-enabled portable digital X-ray and molecular diagnostic tools.
  • Deploy a large field workforce supported by strong monitoring and program-management structures to ensure quality, speed and accountability.

The role contributes to community screening, diagnostics, coordination, monitoring and linkage to TB treatment under the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP).

Role Summary

The District M&E Officer will support the project's monitoring, data-management and digital reporting requirements at the district level.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Get trained in SOPs and protocols for community-based screening of tribal populations in India under NTEP and the project.
  • Obtain baseline data within 2 weeks of joining, according to the monitoring indicators being reported under the project.
  • Manage digital data systems used for TB screening, diagnostics and reporting.
  • Support testing, troubleshooting, demonstrations and capacity building of teams in the use of digital systems.
  • Maintain inventory at the district level and forecast requirements and shortages in a timely manner.
  • Ensure accurate entry, validation and consolidation of program data.
  • Track key indicators related to screening, testing and treatment linkage.
  • Support district and central teams with program analytics and dashboards.
  • Ensure alignment with national TB surveillance systems such as Nikshay.
  • Conduct periodic data-quality audits and corrective actions.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

The JD notes that qualification and experience requirements may vary according to state hiring norms but should align with relevant public health, clinical or community health backgrounds.

Qualification: Graduate/Postgraduate in:

  • Data Management
  • Statistics
  • Public Health

Experience: 3–6 years in health data systems or monitoring roles.
